Louise Hastings is what I call a truly lyrical poet. She is already published in various forms and is proving to be a poet worth seeking out; publishers are increasingly becoming aware of her talent. Her poetry somehow manages to take you to places not many of us are ordinarily capable of visiting, which for me is the mark of a true poet. The rhythm and the language she uses are so often completely in tune with her subject as she weaves a story. She comes close, in my view, to that quality of poetic expression, which is difficult to find and which will endure.
