Billy Collins

Billy Collins is a poet I admire, if only because I find his poetry, his language very contemporary, but classically meaningful. His poem, “The Dead“, whilst a tad melancholy, is still a good example of his skill; and “Christmas Sparrow” included in Carol Ann Duffy’s ‘The Twelve Poems for Christmas’ in 2010.

Billy’s own web site is here.

Well thanks, Rosemary, that’s a very kind comment; your compliment is much appreciated. Apologies for the delay in responding, but your comment was treated as ‘junk’ so I didn’t find it till I made a routine check around the ‘back office’! Thanks all the same.
