A Scottish singer/songwriter, whose music and words I have grown to love and admire. The combination of music and poetry in her compositions is lyrical, stunning. The subject (or objects) of her composition vary widely from songs that’ll make you cry, like “We’re All Leaving” (a notion of how Charles Darwin coped with the death of his ten year old daughter) and think, like “Maybe There’s a Road” (about the European sex-trafficing industry) through the amusing sideways look at “The News” to the enchanting “John C Clark (The Gasman Song)”.
