Limerick Eight

(The Owl and the Pussycat and other poems)

It is Madeleine Begun ‘Mad’ Kane, whose Humour Blog constantly provides an insistent stream of humorous poetry mainly in the form of Limericks and the occasional Haiku, who reminded us that it was the (199th) anniversary of Edward Lear’s birthday on Thursday, 12th May. This poem is dedicated to the great man himself, the master of the limerick and neologist par excellence.

I give due recognition to Mad Kane, then, who provided the first line of this limerick.
