Hello, It’s Me

(attention seeking, ego and obsessive behaviour)

This slightly controversial poem is based on at least two characters I have known in my life. You’ll know the type I mean.

It’s written in rather uninterruptible monolithic blocks, except for the last two poignant lines, so as to reflect the dominating force that some personalities present in ‘conversations’, how breathless they leave you and, apart from obviously being needy people, how both blind and blinding they are.

The abruptness of the ending, summarises how I see the dysfunctional character of obsessive compulsive type behaviour: eventually burning itself out and reaching a cliff edge…

There’s probably a bit of all of us in this poem.
