Yes, Haiku is an old Japanese form of poetry, which has gained much popularity in recent years. The key to haiku is it’s brevity, the art of good haiku, apart from its very specific structure, is that the message is far greater than the number of words [as in all poetry, which should distil and condense the message by clever use of language, metaphor and imagery]. You’re right about obscurity, in a way; in essence, this is what you get with much good poetry; it makes you think and take a different perspective on life.

Actually, it was I who got a fridge magnet Haiku kit for Christmas and it is this that I used to create the above. Interesting challenge with a limited number of words to chose from.
